You wouldn’t necessarily see these things as imprisonment; however, they do bind us! But the great news is that they bind us to Jesus Christ and His likeness. Just like Paul wrote, “I Paul, the prisoner of Christ”. I have chosen through the expression of my life to chain myself to His call, His life, His leading, His grace, His mercy, His covenant, His righteousness forever…I could go on and on. There is freedom in being bound to Him.

How many of us can say that we wait for Sunday to come around to “rejuvenate” and get us back on track again? I have totally been there- where you feel like someone might have to lead you into a song or a prayer because you can’t do it on your own- but no, we can! We have the power and ability to enter into worship anytime we want- during our lunch break, on our way to work, or just simply in our living room.
We have made happiness “cheap”. We have made it into an emotion that can be given to us by people, circumstances, and general life events. We get a new car… it makes us happy. We get a new job… it makes us happy. What makes is it that makes you happy?
Many people are involved in their ministry and never evaluate where they are as a servant, as well as where they would like to be. Where do you stand in your level of commitment? Are you the public, the consumer, the volunteer, the staff, or the owner?
There are many people who have been involved in ministry for a long time and now they know they are running on fumes. What happened? Could it be that we have forgotten the greatest and simplest pleasure known to man?
