Believe Big

Earlier this week, in my devotional time, I was stirred by the thoughts of believing BIG!  Sometimes the pressures of present circumstances hide our view of eternal realities!  It is important for all of us to never stop dreaming or believing that our God is a “mighty God”! As the old songwriter wrote, “He specializes in things thought impossible”!

A few weeks ago in prayer on Tuesday night, I shared with our church and internet audience, that the Lord had been speaking to me that He was ABLE to do … exceedingly, abundantly, beyond … ALL WE ASK OR THINK!  God is not limited to our views or our understanding.  He is moved by our obedience, or lack of it.

God has been speaking to my heart to “believe big.” If I’m in His will and working for His glory, why operate with small faith? Why put limits on what the God of the universe can do? If I know God is able to do exceeding abundantly, why not believe He’ll do it in MY life?

So that’s where I am… or at least, trying to be. And I’m wondering who’s willing to inhabit this space also. If God has put something on your heart to do, to pray for, to work toward, WHY NOT BELIEVE BIG? Let’s pray for increased faith, knowing that what God has purposed, He will bring to pass (Is 46:9-11). Let’s not lower our expectations according to our own understanding, or to guard against disappointment. Instead, let’s believe Jesus when He said, “All things are possible to him who believes” (Mk 9:23).

We serve a God of limitless power who desires His will and His Word to go forth throughout all the earth. Let’s stop thinking it would be crazy for Him to use us to do big things for His kingdom. All He needs are willing and faithful hearts—and maybe hearts that believe big.  It is not about fame, recognition, publicity – it never is – it is about Kingdom influence and lives being changed.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the ability to do what is required in spite of your fears. Everybody faces moments of doubt and being overwhelmed. Let me challenge you today to begin to look for the right stuff! The possibilities of Maximizing your life, business, or ministry is in finding the proper ingredients. Don’t look for the dirt … look for the GOLD!
